Colly steers 60's to victory...

A brilliant 94 from Dave Collinson steered to 60's to victory against Worcestershire to keep up their unbeaten record intact. For once the top order batsman did not deliver the goods, and the scoreboard was looking a bit sad at one stage where in the 35th over we were 117 for 5.  But, with Colly as the bedrock of this performance setting up important partnerships with Clarkie, Beezer and Kev Smith, it was the partnership with Tom Parsons (29no) that took the total to 217 for 7, that gave us a match winning score and took the wind very much out of the Worcestershire sails.

However, on a very good Bewdley pitch (that's right Bewdley not Birlingham - inquest to follow along with did Tom Parsons' kit fall off the back of his motorbike, but that's another story!), nothing could be taken for granted.  But with Mondo opening up and setting the tone, only going for a miserly 12 runs off his 9 overs (with 46 dot balls out of 54) and taking 2 wickets in the process, Worcestershire's reply was always going to be on the back foot.

Worcestershire eventually finished 91 runs short with all bowlers bowling well on a truly quintessential English hot summer's day.  However, the plaudits must go to Colly for his match winning performance on the day, despite having to come off half way through our fielding display to take his rightful place in the shade, drinking Pina Colada cocktails and signing autographs for the watching crowd.

An extremely impressive team effort that keeps Glos'shire at the top of the table with every player contributing to the win...
